At Longstone CE Primary School, we strive towards shaping assured, curious and resilient mathematicians who relish the challenge of maths. Knowledge of mathematics is key to life and we aim that our children become enthusiastic, independent and creative mathematicians across the curriculum. We have adopted a teaching for mastery approach by following the White Rose schemes of learning. Our maths planning is bespoke to the needs of the groups and individuals and uses a variety of resources to keep children challenged and interested. This, along with the fluency objectives expected at the end of each year, clearly sets out the knowledge that pupils will gain at the end of each stage.
