Music

At Longstone CofE (VA) Primary School, music has always been a passion of the school and our overall aim in music is for our pupils to leave school with a sound understanding of appreciating, reading, performing and composing music. We aim to do this through nurturing the curiosity of music around them; igniting an interest in musical experiences and allowing their musical talents to shine.

Buxton Music, Speech & Drama Festival 19.05.23

Just before the May Half Term break, we took our school choir to the Buxton Music, Speech and Drama Festival where our children were able to perform and showcase their wonderful talents. The choir came away with a distinction and we also had children placed in high positions in singing and piano. Well done to our wonderful musicians and singers and a massive thanks to the staff, adult volunteers and parents who organised, conducted, supported and made this amazing opportunity happen.

VE Day 2020

Music is so important to us at Longstone School, that we still incorporated it, where possible, during the lockdown of 2020. We proved that even when apart you can create a musical masterpiece!
