Welcome to Rowling Class's webpage.![]() My name is Mr Raybould and I'd like to welcome you to Rowling class's webpage where you'll find useful information about the life of the class.
The Summer Term continues on the 7th June with a bit more sun (hopefully) and an even warmer classroom. (The 6th June is a staff inset day.) Our topic is called Funny Bones. We will be looking at a range of subjects including science (how parts of the body work) and art (digital art and weaving). We will continue to read Goodnight Mr Tom as we're still working our way through this excellent story! Read on for further information about the new blog, PE and homework. Remember: be good, work hard, have fun! Summer Play![]() This year, Rowling and Morpurgo classes will perform Treachery at Traitor's Quay. This is a play from Out of the Ark and is a mystery set during WWII. The auditions have been coming in thick and fast and the casting is almost complete... watch this space for further updates!
Over the course of this half term, any work that's of particular interest will be added to the class blog to celebrate children's learning.
The blog is part of Seesaw and can be found HERE Look out for new entries throughout the term... PEPE this half term will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays so children will need to arrive at school, as usual, in their PE kits.
HomeworkTopic homework will be posted on Seesaw.
Ongoing homework is reading, Times Tables Rock Stars and spelling practice (all spellings are posted on Spelling Shed). Practice makes progress. |
We are reading:SpellingsSpelling Tests:
Spelling tests are on a Thursday. Spelling rules: There will be a different spelling rule each week and will be added to the children's planners. 8 of the 10 words will be tested each week. "Orange" words: Every half term there are 20 of the 100(ish) spelling words taken from the statutory spelling list for Years 5 and 6. Two of these spellings will be tested randomly every week as part of the spelling test. Spelling Shed: All spelling lists will be on Spelling Shed for practice. |
